When Workouts at Home Aren’t Working, Try These to Keep Movin’!

By now you’ve probably heard the term “at-home workout” more than you care to admit. And sure, a few burpees here and there, some sit-ups for good measure, and an occasional morning jog are nice and all, but after a while it can get hard to keep up with. Add the fact that many of us don’t have adequate fitness equipment or know-how and it becomes a recipe for gains — and no, not the good kind.

Since life has come to a screeching halt, maybe it’s time to reexamine the things we’re already doing and spruce them up! We’re sitting at home toiling away until our “work from home” duties are satisfied, and then our personal lives can begin for the day. You’ve probably cleaned the same window five times, walked around the same block five times, and listened to your go-to playlists well over five times. So how can we use these same activities and a little Bang Energy to burn some calories while we wait for order to be restored? Let’s find out!

Clean, Lean, and Mean

Mopping, sweeping, and dusting all inherently involve some sort of cardio movement so you’re on the right track right off the bat. What if you added a little extra somethin’ somethin’ to your cleaning routine?

The next time you pick up a mop, broom, swifter, or vacuum, put some intention behind it. Challenge yourself to press in harder, really use some elbow grease, and put your whole body into it. Get in tune with every muscle that flexes with each sweep and learn how your body coordinates each step. Switch on your activity tracker, pop open your fav Bang Energy flavor, and you’ll see just how many calories your body can torch by picking up a mop with intention.

Amp Up Your After-Dinner Walks

Although we’re not allowed to be out and about, a walk with immediate family and fellow quarantiners is acceptable as long you don’t congregate in a group or get closer than 6 feet from another party.

So, get outside and WALK IT OUT!

And while you’re at it, take a couple of lunge steps, incorporate a few jumping jacks, and then finish it off with a short sprint to the corner. Your leisurely, lets-get-out-of-the-house strolls can be a great way to break a sweat, even if only for a short while. Make it a game, compete with your kids, or even yourself. Whatever gets that heart rate up, DO IT!

Get some kicks on (we suggest our Fuchsia Trance Camo Fighters because the world needs some color right now), your favorite workout gear, and get movin’!

When in Doubt, Rock It Out

Once you’ve gone through every workout-on-demand, fitness-from-home video and HIIT routine using cans and water jugs, you may feel like you’ve hit a wall. But there’s one activity that beats them all and it takes zero skill, practice, or fancy maneuvering – dancing!

You’ve probably seen your kids or nephews and nieces enjoy a good dance party following their favorite artists — now it’s your turn! Unleash all your quarantine energy and dance like no one is watching! It’s just you or just you and your family, so why not?

Get decked out in some hot dance gear (we suggest our men’s and women’s fitness apparel) and battle it out with yourself, your kids, or anyone you see on TV!

So, there you have it, Bangsters — three very doable ways to burn some energy that can easily become part of your everyday life! Keep that body moving with a little creativity, some motivation, and plenty of BANG!

  1. Fantastic Advice! Every little bit does count in both your output and your input (food). Most of us are indulging a bit more so it is reasonable that we just lean into our activities to balance out. Thank you for keeping it simple and bringing the attention to easier toils rather than the common add x new workout routine y days a week scenario.
