Responsibilities

  • Investigate and locate illegal activity regarding stolen credit card numbers
  • Initiate reimbursement of wrongful transactions
  • Utilize resources to link and analyze information regarding fraud i.e. reverse phone look up, IP locations, and research shipping addresses
  • Evaluate data and conduct research to identify patterns and trends related to fraud
  • Customer follow ups
  • Examine unauthorized purchases
  • Review chargebacks and confirmed frauds
  • Analyze chargeback threshold violations to identify root cause and implement additional controls
  • Analyze financial statements such as P&L and budget
  • Act as liaison between Accounting, Marketing, Customer Service, and third-party vendors
  • Implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines
  • Examine and interpret statistical reports

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Business Administration or Criminal Justice, or in a relevant work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Fraud Analyst
  • Strong understanding of financial crimes, in particular cyber fraud means and threats; and an in-depth knowledge of the cards business and risk management concepts and practices, and performance implications of policies/actions
  • Must possess advance computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills to detect and identify weaknesses in the systems; as well as identify the root cause of the weakness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to take interviews, write statements and reports, and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new processes and tools
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Has a “whatever it takes” attitude
  • A track record of performance meeting targets and objectives
  • Self-directed, goal-oriented and flexible, enjoying working in a fast-paced and at times challenging environment
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal)
